A Surprise Guest

Last night at the Midvale Main Street Theatre, we were lucky enough to have a surprise guest! Magician, Craig Campbell mystified the audience with his amusing antics and amazing feats of magic. Craig has agreed to come back for another night…and that would be TONIGHT!

Come on down for our final performance of All You Need Is Love, our Valentine’s Show, where you will enjoy an evening of music, dancing, singing, and some of the most memorable music of our time.

We also have fantastic new items in our concessions stand and a fully staffed kitchen specifically for this occasion.

All seats are just $5.00. Curtain is at 7:00 p.m. tonight and the doors will be open by 6:30 p.m. Come on in early and have something to eat before the show! We also have specialty Valentine’s Gift Baskets assembled at a very reasonable price so that you can give a gift to that special someone for Valentine’s Day and help to support the Guyz N Dollz travelling performers at the same time! See ya tonight!

The Cast of “All You Need Is Love”

The Cast of All You Need Is Love!

“All You Need Is Love” begins tonight (February 11, 2010) at the Midvale Main Street Theatre. This Cast of players consists of the Performing Arts Groups from our local “Guyz N Dollz” performers,  lead by Wendy Smedshammer, Tammy Ross, and the Guyz N Dollz instructors.

All You Need Is Love will run two nights…tonight and tomorrow night only… beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This is a really fun piece of Musical Community Theatre with music we have all grown to love through the years, dancing that is contagious, and a story line you will not soon forget. This is perfect for the entire family, for date night, and for Valentine’s Day as it is set in the environment of Cupid’s Sweet Shop!

The Midvale Main Street Theatre is hosting this production and has completely revamped their kitchen and concessions area to provide you with outstanding service and great food options; and of course tasty treats. Show up a little bit early and check it out!

We will also be offering Gift Baskets perfectly suited for Valentine’s Gifts at very reasonable prices. Speaking of reasonable prices, All You Need Is Love is being offered at $5.00 per seat and all tickets may be paid for at the door with no additional costs. Proceeds from this production will go toward the Guyz N Dollz Performing Arts travel for the upcoming year.

See you at 7:00 p.m. today and/or tomorrow!

We have a lot of fun at Guyz N Dollz. With our focus of singing, dancing, and acting, we develop performance groups and provide opportunities to add to your own style independently as well.

Dancing

As a member of Guyz N Dollz, as with our parent company, Midvale Main Street Theatre, you are able to have opportunities to have a full-sized live-Theatre experience.

Whether you are looking for great new ways to be creative in what you love the most, or just trying out new things that may help you spice up your life, Guyz N Dollz has a place for you.

We do in-house performances and rehearsals, but we also travel! Sometimes quite long distances! (Of course, participation away from the studio is always up to you!)

Here is what we know for sure, when you have a group who is doing what they love, everyone becomes more than acquaintances. We are always glad to welcome new members to our growing extended family! Will you be next?

Under the Direction of Tammy Ross and Wendy Smedshammer, registration will be held July 31, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, and again from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (You may show up whichever time will work best for you.) at the Guyz N Dollz dance studio located at 139 East 6100 South in Murray, UT. For more information, just call us at 801-262-4047.

jester_dance_md_clrIt’s definitely Summer in Utah, but the heat hasn’t slowed us down a bit!  Right now at the Guyz N Dollz Performing Arts Academy in Murray, Utah, we are having a blast!

We are currently teaching Private Voice Lessons, Dance, and Acting at the Guyz N Dollz Studio.

There is a Cheer Camp going on with teacher Alicia at the helm!

We are in the middle of a Summer Theatre Camp which is being held every day at the Midvale Main Street Theatre!  People in this group are getting opportunities to practice on a full-size stage with theatrical lighting, directors, and guest teachers.  We have improv professionals and performers (Logan Rogan and Eric Jensen from Off Broadway Theatre) who are teaching about ways to continue the action on stage, and professional Actor, Eric McGraw, who helped us work on projection and movement to get our messages across.  Eric taught about how to develop a character that is unique to you, even though many other people may have played that same role in the past.  We have also had Hip-Hop Dance Artist, Cole Hights, teaching this group which gives them something new to beef up their resume’s with.  We will have a performance of a program that is being written and developed by the group and their Directors, Wendy Smedshammer and Tammy Ross, which the acting troop has named “A Haunting at the Midvale Theatre.”  This variety program will be held on July 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Midvale Main Street Theatre for the families of those enrolled.  You are welcome to join us.

Did I mention that we travel?  Yep, we do performances out and away from the studio.  If you have a need for live entertainment, we are a super source for you!

…and let’s not forget Nunsense!  Though Nunsense is a Murray Community theatrical production, it is being Directed (and starred in) by our own, Wendy Smedshammer!  Nunsense begins July 28, 2009, and is held at the Amphitheatre in Murray Park.  For more information, call us at (801)262-4047.
